Self Help Africa

Self Help Africa is an international development agency working in nine countries in Sub-Saharan Africa. The charity works in Ethiopia, Eritrea, Kenya, Uganda, Malawi, Togo, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Zambia to increase food production and support rural African communities to earn a sustainable living.

The music  provided for the Event was by "Democratic Republic Of Djembe" playing traditional African rhythms. The three lady's in the photo from this group are Ruth Suter, Ellen Embleton and Chrissy Bridge. At the end of their performance they also invited some of us to join them, which was great fun!

If you want to learn more about West African rhythms they have meetings every Sunday between 4-7 pm at the English Bridge Workshop, Abbey Foregate, Shrewsbury SY2 6AD.
